Hey what’s an ankle tattoo between friends? This nice little tattoo of a dolphin jumping out of the sea is done in a great way. It is right above the ankle and the colors are nicely done. The thing about a tattoo down low is that is can be of almost anything you want and it will only be noticeable when you want it to be. I have seen an ankle tattoo that was a kitten playing with a puppy, so it can really be about anything you want it to be.

Lots of people use friends names or loved ones as a great idea for an ankle tattoo.

Most of the women that have an ankle tattoo love the cuteness of it and it can be rather small if they want and that way not very noticeable to make it a talking piece. I know one lady that had the face of her dog tattooed on one ankle and the face of her cat on the other ankle. Both were beautiful works of art, and the tattoo artist really spent a lot of time in the detailing of both the animals faces for her. I would say it is mainly women that get an ankle tattoo.

They can be small, they can be any color you want them to be. I am talking about an ankle tattoo. The neat little tattoos you see all the cute girls wearing now days. Not only do you see cute girls wearing them, lots of moms and grandmothers are having their ankles tattooed with their favorite pets names and even the names of their children. I even knew of one divorcee that had the name of her ex-husband tattooed on the bottom of her right foot so she could step on him each and every day. Now that is a good one I have never seen before.

But back to the ankle tattoo we were talking about. One of the best I have seen is this awesome starfish ankle tattoo, nice blues and oranges mix together for a great color matching I think.

The one thing you really have to be careful of when getting an ankle tattoo is, its going to be right on the bone, so the comfort level when getting it and a few days afterwards is going to be a little low. Sometimes there is no discomfort but most of the time you will end up with a couple days where it just gives you a nice pain in the ankle if you know what I mean.

How could anyone not like eye catching ankle tattoos? They go back to the tribal areas of china where you put your ring of honor around your ankle. Sometimes they would use ankle tattoos to adorn their wives and children with so that if anything happened to them others could identify them by the tattoos. Almost all tattoos have meanings, and depending on where you are from, they can have some very different meanings. One tribe could use ankle tattoos as a sign of weakness, and another tribe could use the same tattoo as a sign of strength.

That was the primitive years, now days they almost all mean the same no matter what continent you are on. I saw one young man with a solar eclipse tattooed on his ankle. Very nicely done, but in some parts of the world that would be taboo but not here in the united states.

Here anything goes when it comes down to ankle tattoos. When you go down to the local burger hangouts in Los Angeles, you will see a lot of the waitresses that run around in short skirts and sandals showing off their ankle tattoos. They use them as a conversation starter for the most part.
