Aztec Art Tattoos
Aztec art tattoos showcase an art form that has advanced throughout the ages. It is often composed of beautiful symbols that held great importance to its culture. Aztec art tattoos are often known for their complex and beautiful patterns that are very easily identifiable. Designs were very sacred to the Aztecs and Aztec art tattoos were known to have spiritual and religious meaning associated with them. One thing that makes Aztec art tattoos different from other tattoos is their importance in the culture.
Placing a tattoo on a specific portion of the body was said to be very important to the Aztecs and they were placed on children as well as adults. A tattoo that was placed on a certain portion of the body often associated that person with a particular deity. Today. Aztec art tattoos are very recognizable and contain many exciting symbolic elements. These often include representations of warriors, eagles, the sun, the moon and stars. Some Aztec art tattoos even manage to blend in the Aztec calendar very effectively. And these tattoos can be done in brilliant color or in monotone hues. Either way, they are very exciting and look good on just about any part of the body. |
Aztec Tattoo
I swear if you look closely at this aztec tattoo you can imagine it being a space man. I think I have seen something just like this picture on the science fiction channel. I think it was called the mutants of mars. A lot of the tattoos that originated in Mexico seem to have a celestial way about them. Just like this great tattoo, I see the space traveler in a helmet and the non human like eyes and mouth.
Makes you wonder if the aztecs were really praying to the sun and moon and not space aliens that had come to visit them years ago. If you are any type of space lover and you are into the aztec folklore, then an aztec tattoo would be perfect for you. I really like the ones with lots of neon pastel colors, but this specific tattoo is very nice only using black and a very light gray in it. If I was to get an aztec tattoo for myself, I would choose the bright blues and the sun colored yellows for mine, since they are the real colors of the aztec natives, and I would probably place it right in the center of my back for the best positioning of something round. |
Aztec Tattoo
I have seen this same tattoo in so many movies shot on location in Mexico. Its a beautiful aztec tattoo with lots of blues, reds and yellows all mixed in to give a very lively appearance. I think this is the prettiest aztec tattoo I have ever seen. The one thing you will always notice about an aztec tattoo is they are always round in design. Not sure why that is, maybe since the Aztecs prayed to the sun and the other round celestial bodies in the sky.
It almost seems like some kind of a special type calendar of sorts with the way things are formed on the tattoo. I really like the face in the center of the tattoo with the snake type tongue slithering outwards. You know I just thought of something totally cool, this almost looks like a map of some kind also, I didn’t notice it at first when I looked at it, but now seeing the faces east and west and the other points going north and south, it could very well be a map. I would give this aztec tattoo a very high rating for its great design and amazing color combinations. I think I might get a small one for the back of my neck. |
Aztec Tattoos
This has to be the biggest of the aztec tattoos I have ever seen. Matter of fact this is double the size of any I have seen. In one way I like it, but in another way I don’t. Sometimes it doesn’t look centered enough for my taste. But when you look at it again, it takes on a whole new feeling. The lightening coming out of the eyes is wicked and sinister, and I am not sure if it is meant to express that feeling. But it conveys danger to me when I look at the face.
Most aztec tattoos don’t seem to really go for the danger deal, but they express a very religious aura about them. Who really knows what some of these symbols meant when they were found in the aztec ruins, I know this tattoo has a lot in common with some of the tattoos created years and years ago in the middle east, especially in Egypt and the surrounding countries. If you are ever thinking about getting aztec tattoos, make sure you read about the history of the aztec peoples and maybe you will get a better feeling for what you want the artist to include in your tattoos. |
Aztec Tattoos
There are many different forms of Aztec tattoos. To go through the entire list would probably take volumes, much more space then I can afford to spend here. But, there two specific Aztec tattoo that I would like to talk about. The first is concerned with the ones that deal with a specific deity, just like the Aztec tattoo in the picture. And the second is the beloved tribal design. Now, I know that many different people complain about Aztec tribal tattoos. They say that the designs are not as complex as normal tribal tattoos, but I really have to disagree.
There are plenty of tribal Aztec tattoos that are just as beautiful, just as complex as the Polynesian tribal art. Now, the Aztec tattoos that deal with specific deities are really my favorite. And there are a whole host of them to choose from. They are deities that deal with the forces of nature, such as the fire, earth and water. And there are also deities that are represented by the planets and stars. Actually, some people would say that the stars and planets are actual deities but that’s another story. These Aztec tattoos include the Sun and the moon. |
