Bug Tattoos

Bug tattoos are popular nowadays, especially among the female population. This is partly due to the fact that these images can be cute and brightly colored, but that isn’t the whole story. Bug tattoo designs can also have some significant symbolism behind them and this is the reason that so many people decide to get them inked onto their body. Today, we are going to look at some of the more popular bug tattoos and discuss what they might mean.

The most popular bug tattoo is the ladybug. This tattoo is even more popular than butterfly, and with good reason. The ladybug tattoo is filled with symbolism.

Some of the meanings behind ladybug tattoos include protection, happiness, luck, love, friendship and acts of good will. In the Christian faith, this insect is often associated with the Virgin Mary. This makes the ladybug design a very prominent feature in many religious tattoos.

Since I mentioned the butterfly, let’s take a moment to talk a little about this bug tattoo. The butterfly is a symbol that has quite a few meanings associated with it. Some of the more common meanings include metamorphosis, immortality, dreams, tenderness, fertility, love, peace, beauty and appreciation. It is also a symbol for the human soul, and as such is often featured in Hindu or Buddhist tattoos.
