Crown Tattoos
Taking us back the days of when Kings and Queens ruled the land with an iron fist, the crown tattoo is the ultimate symbol of power and the royal right to rule. For thousands of years the crown has been a symbol of the chosen leader, who often was the direct representative of God, to take control of the destinies of the people underneath him. Many groups have used the crown to symbolize the power and authority to lead or command. When it is combined with a cross, one of the meanings of the crown is "victory," and the cross symbolizes Christianity.
Many Royal crowns in Europe incorporated the Christian Cross into their design, reinforcing the Monarch’s claim that their right to the throne was a divine right and that the monarch was guided by the hand of God. But, the crown tattoo today is not a symbol of the one chosen to lead a group of people. Rather it’s a symbol that expresses the individuals right to rule over his own life. The bearer is taking control over his own life and not leaving it up to chance or fate. The bearer of the crown tattoo is one who is ready to take responsibility for his own actions. |

Nothing connotes royalty and all the power that it contains better then the crown tattoo. It is the visible badge of office. That authority to rule was often held to be divinely inspired. In the Christian tradition the garland of thorns placed on Christ’s head during the ordeal of his crucifixion is know as the crown of thorns. The centerpiece of any coronation of a new monarch is always the moment when the new King or Queen gets the crown placed upon his or hers head. So, the crown tattoo is a symbolic representation of royalty, power and prestige.
But, it doesn’t mean that the bearer is trying to rule over other people. The crown tattoo grants the sovereignty of rule over the bearers own life. It symbolizes an individual’s sovereignty over their own life, feelings, thoughts, and actions. It means that the person has taken control over his own life and is going to use that power to control his own fate. The crown symbolizes self-control, and is a reminder to use power and authority wisely and justly. The bearer of the crown tattoo is the rightful ruler of his own life and not just a pawn in the grand scheme of things. |
