Female tattoos are by definition designs that are favored by women. These type of tattoos are becoming increasingly popular in the tattoo world, probably due to the shattering of taboos that were present for so long. For the past sixty years, it was uncommon for women to get any form of body art and in many cases was looked down upon. But this attitude has changed dramatically recently and female tattoos are now all the rage.
Okay, it might be true that more male tattoos are done every year than female tattoos, but this shouldn’t cause you to underestimate the value of these designs and the impact they can have on the world of body art. Female tattoos are quickly closing the gap and are certainly destined to be around for some time to come. Popular female tattoos designs usually include elements taken from nature. The most common elements include butterflies, caterpillars, flowers and cute little insects. But female tattoos can also contain other elements such as cartoon characters or astrological symbols done in a feminine way.
