Leo Tattoos

This Leo tattoo is inspired by the astrological sign Leo, which rules people born between July 23 to August 22. Leo is represented by the lion and is associated with the myth of the Nemean Lion which was killed by Hercules during one of his twelve labors, and subsequently put into the sky. Leo is associated with the classical element fire, and thus called a fire sign (along with signs such as Aries and Sagittarius). Leo is also one of the fixed signs (along with Taurus, Scorpio, and Aquarius). It is the sole domicile of the Sun.

The Egyptian pharaoh Nechepso, and his priest Petosiris, taught that at the creation of the world, the Sun rose here near Denebola, and hence Leo was Domicilium Solis, the emblem of fire and heat, and the "House of the Sun". Each astrological sign is assigned a part of the body, viewed as the seat of its power. Leo rules the upper back, forearms, wrist, spine and heart. The gemstone associated with Leo the lion is the ruby. A Leo tattoo is sometimes symbolized by the lion or the astrological symbol of Leo. These two elements can also be combined to add further meaning.

If you were born between July twenty third and August twenty-second then guess what? You are a Leo. So, why not get a Leo tattoo that shows off your particular style and flair? Leo’s have a whole host of positive attributes. For one, they have wonderfully a friendly disposition and are usually very outgoing. If you are one of those people looking for a Leo tattoo for yourself or maybe you want to find a great tattoo for the Leo in your life then the one in the picture might be the one for you. It combines two of the most popular elements for a great Leo tattoo.

It has the Leo glyph and it also has a flame accent to it. Why is the fire accent so significant? Because Leo is a fire sign and is therefore ruled by it some people believe. There are a lot of really great tattoo designs that incorporate fire and flames and they look incredible. Imagine the design in the picture if it was shaded with lots of color. There are usually lots of bright colors and strong bold lines making a flame tattoo incredibly attractive. There is always the flames from the wrist extended up the arms but you can also choose to use flames behind the lion. It is up to you but flames always make for a great tattoo design, no matter how you use it.

Leo Tattoos

A person that is born between July 23rd and August 22nd is born under the sign of Leo and might want to consider getting a Leo tattoo. Leo tattoos can be done in a number of different styles according to the personal preference of the person getting the tattoo. Some people like the traditional Leo tattoo designs that contain the sign’s glyph. The glyph of Leo is easily identifiable and looks like an upside down “U” with curls on its ends.

Other people like to get a Leo tattoo that contains a representation of a lion, which is of course the animal that is associated with this sign. Still others take it a little bit further.

They take either the animal representation of the sign or the glyph representation of the sign and blend in various elements such as flames, hearts and even stars. This isn’t surprising as Leo is considered to be a romantic sign and people born under it have a flair for style and drama.

Of course, there are an almost endless variety of designs that can be made from the above mentioned elements. This variety of designs is only limited by the imagination of the wearer and the skill of the artist. So, if you are born under this beautiful sign you should give it a little thought and come up with a design that reflects your unique style and imagination.
