The lower back tattoo in the picture is a beautiful example of what can be done with some ink and a little imagination. The three roses are beautifully shaded and the green leaves makes the whole design pop out at you. Lower back tattoos are becoming increasingly popular though they are relatively new in modern cultures. But, lower back tattoos have been used throughout the ancient world for many years and for various reasons. This area of the body is thought by some to contain hidden stored energy called "kundalini".

In the Sanskrit language, kundalini means "snake" or "serpent power," and this energy is believed to lie like a serpent in the root chakra at the base of the spine. For this reason early designs often had serpent-like qualities, representing intense feminine power. While lower back tattoo designs have changed gradually over time, some thought should still be given to the meaning behind a design, particularly if you are young. Young women tend to prefer designs that are playful and sexy, and that is fine; but giving the proper thought to the meaning behind a design will likely ensure that you continue to be happy with your selection throughout the years.

This is a lower back tattoo that going to look very good as a tramp stamp on someone’s back end!! And these tattoos are hot. Lower back tattoo designs are always sexy to an extent. Right above the bottom and between the hips is the perfect place for a sexy lower back tattoo design. All tattoo designs are not made equal, though, and choosing a tattoo design can take just as long as it would if you were getting a tattoo anywhere else. Sometimes girls like cute tattoos, and some girls like sexy tattoos.

There are so many designs out there, cute or sexy, that you will definitely find one that’s just for you. Also a lower back tattoo does not have to be in the middle, it can be anywhere on your lower back. In the middle, slightly to the left or right, or closer to your hips. It’s your choice where you want to get your new sexy tattoo design. As with any tattoo, be aware of the location. A lower back tattoo is easily visible if you bend over to do pretty much anything and if that’s going to be a problem, then you might want to think about getting a tattoo somewhere else. But most girls who look into lower back tattoo designs know exactly what they’re getting into!

This is a very fragile and beautiful lower back tattoo design. I like the natural ebb and flow that this tattoo has. It would do a very fine job in highlighting that particular part of a woman’s anatomy. It seems to me that this lower back tattoo design is actually a cross between a tribal tattoo and a flower tattoo. See how the stem part is not made of actual plant stalks but are the swirling lines that we have seen in so many different tribal tattoos.

And the flowers are really simplistic but they are beautiful nonetheless. Another thing that I like about this lower back tattoo design is the color of the flowers. Is that a peach color? I’m not quite sure, and it may look different on your monitor then it does mine. But, it does look like a light orange or peach color to me. If it is, it makes me wonder if the tattoo artist could actually mix a color that is similar to that. I presume that it’s possible because I have seen tattoos done in almost every color of the rainbow, though I don’t think I have ever seen a peach colored tattoo. Have you?

If you have been considering a lower back tattoo you have probably given though to the design, color and size. But did you think about the pain? I bet you didn’t so here’s a few things to think about. There is absolutely no way to gauge how painful a lower back tattoo is going to be – each and every one is different. It depends mainly on your state of mind, if you turn up at the tattoo studio in a positive frame of mind, looking forward to the experience, it probably won’t hurt as much as you think.

If you arrive nervous and unprepared – it will almost certainly hurt more than you expect. There are some practical and simple steps you can take to make sure that it isn’t an unpleasant experience. Getting a lower back tattoo means the artist has to pierce your skin. That will always involve pain. Irrespective of the size of the tattoo, or how much color it has, you can expect to feel discomfort at the very least, though lower back tattoo are generally less painful than other areas. We all have a different level of pain tolerance, women usually have a higher pain threshold than men, and that pain threshold will dictate how uncomfortable it is regardless of any other factors.

Lower back tattoos are something that are often misunderstood and even have some urban myths surrounding them. I don’t know why that is because after all a lower back tattoo is really just like any other tattoo. It seems that just the placement puts off a lot of people. Let me talk about two of the most common myths surrounding the scandalous lower back tattoo. The first myth is that lower back tattoos are only worn by promiscuous women. That is not true my friends. The placement of the tattoo has nothing to do with how "easy" a women is.

I think that this myth is so prominent because the appearance of a design on that part of the body naturally draws our attention there. And since our attention is diverted there then it’s almost natural to assume that the women was trying to get us to focus on that area, but that’s not the case. Another myth is that women who get a lower back tattoo can’t get an epidural during labor. That is another false assumption. Actually, very few studies have looked at the risks of epidurals in women with lower back tattoos. But there is no conclusive evidence of any adverse effects, such an increased risk of an infection. So, now that you know the facts feel free to grab one yourself!

Many people wonder why there is such a surge in the popularity of lower back tattoos. To not put too fine a point on it, it’s because lower back tattoos are fun and quite sexy. The beautiful curves and graceful feminine shapes of a woman’s body all seem to converge in the lower back. Like the fine detail work on a exquisite piece of furniture, a tail bone tattoo design becomes a beautiful adornment on any woman’s body. Many times a lower back design will be specially shaped by the artist to accentuate and flatter the hourglass shape of the female form.

Whether you are picturing a tattoo design of an angel, sun, butterfly or dolphin, the lower back can be the perfect spot. But, because of it’s location on the backside it often receives a bad rap. Since it can usually only be seen when the woman is bending over or when the observer is in a position behind the bearer, it’s been called names such as "slag-tag" and "tramp stamp". But, that should not be a deterrent to anyone thinking of getting a lower back tattoo. When tastefully done they are not only beautiful but quite artistic as well.
