Navy Tattoos
The reason for getting Navy tattoos is pretty simple. The wearer is either a current member of the Navy, know someone who has served or is currently serving in the Navy, or they used to be in the Navy. No matter what the reason however, Navy tattoos can be a great way to express pride in this branch of armed service. Many of the more popular Navy tattoo designs are pretty basic. They feature symbols such as compasses, anchors, sparrows and nautical stars. Some have “Navy” written across them, while others simply have “USN” emblazoned on them.
While these continue to be the most popular designs, some more elaborate designs are beginning to gain steam. Some of these are quite elaborate and feature things such as the person’s achievements, rank and arenas that he or she has served. People are also beginning to combine Navy tattoos with other design elements such as animals. These animals can be real or imaginary creatures that are added to the anchor design. Some of the more popular of these include wolves, dolphins, dragons and whales. These animals can be symbolic of the nature of the person or show where they served. For instance, a person who served in the Far East may choose to have a dragon added to their tattoo. A person who served in the Arctic may choose to get a polar bear. |
