Today, we are going to be discussing the difference between old school and new school tattoos. When I first started writing this article I thought that it would be pretty easy for me to explain the differences between the two, but I was wrong. It is actually harder than I thought it would be. But then inspiration struck me. I finally figured out the best way to describe old school and new school tattoos to you.

Old school tattoos were done in the first half of the twentieth century and usually utilized symbols of a patriotic nature.

These tattooed were often black or green outlines and used pre-made flash designs that could be chosen by the customer right on the spot. This made these tattoos very easy for the artist to do, but usually lacked any creativity.

After World War II, things began to change in the industry. New school tattoos began to be done that featured original designs that were created according to the specifications of the customer and contained brilliant hues of color. These new school tattoos not only looked better than their counterparts, but also were more aesthetically pleasing. And that my friends, is the biggest difference between old school and new school tattoos.
