Octopus Tattoos
Octopus tattoo designs can mean a myriad of different things to different people. But the general consensus on the symbolism behind this tattoo is that it represents intellect, grace, wisdom and even adaptability. Some people choose to have octopus tattoos to endear themselves to these very traits, other people get the tattoo simply because they think it is a cool design. Many of the octopus tattoos that are done today are done in a very realistic fashion.
They are normally done in a larger than normal tattoo style and may picture the octopus wrapping its tentacles around the wearer. I have seen many octopus tattoos done in this way with the tentacles wrapping themselves around the wearer’s back, around his arms and sometimes traveling down his legs. This creates a very visual effect that is hard not to notice. When octopus tattoos are inked they are usually shown in their natural habitat. This could be anything from the coral encrusted floor of the ocean to the carcass of a ship’s wreck. They may also be featured with other marine animals such as fish, sharks, sting rays and jelly fish. This creates very realistic octopus tattoos that are a lot of fun to view. |
