Prison Tattoos
Due to a number of different reasons, prison tattoos have recently experienced a surge in popularity. In part, this is due to people seeing prison tattoo designs and thinking that they are cool. While prison tattoos have generally been a part of the prison sub-culture, over the past few years it has gained mainstream acceptance. Before getting one of these prison tattoos, a person should be familiar with what the various symbols mean. While I can’t give you a comprehensive list of prison tattoo meanings, I can cover some of the basics.
So if you are ready, then let’s cover some of the basic ones. A popular prison tattoo is a clock face that has no hands. This design means that the person is either currently serving time or has served time in the past. Another common design element is a tombstone. This is usually an indication of how much time a person has served. The tombstone design is usually inked with a date or a number that indicates how much time the person has served. The last tattoo that I want to talk about is the eight ball. This design indicates that the person has bad luck or is “behind the eight ball.” |
