One of the great things about shooting star tattoos is they can really be placed just about anywhere on the body and they can be resized and shaped to fit that area. However most commonly women tend to get star tattoos a little more consistently then men and they often get a small design that can be placed on the top of a foot, the back of the neck or the hips. These are all very sensual locations and great places for a little tattoo. Guys tend to go with bigger more visible tattoos. They will often work a shooting star tattoo design into a full sleeve tattoo.

They will also get them on their shoulders, upper back, calf and leg area just to name a few. And let’s face facts folks. Shooting star tattoos are hot. And why shouldn’t they be? Just about everyone can remember being fascinated with the stars. Just like many of the aboriginal cultures men and women are constantly fascinated by stars. One of the great things about star tattoo designs is they are very flexible and can be fit and adapted to your unique situation and desires for a tattoo. Meaning it can easily be re-sized to fit any location on your body that you want to get your tattoo.

Man, there are a lot of shooting star tattoos out there. If you look through any tattoo magazine your sure to find at least a half dozen different shooting star tattoos. Why is that? That’s because shooting star tattoos have significant meanings attached to them. You see, when you get a shooting star tattoo you are basically saying one of two things about yourself. The first thing you might say with a shooting star tattoo is that you are someone special. Your saying that your somebody who’s going places and doing things.

And everyone should recognize your accomplishments, Another thing that you can be saying with a shooting star tattoo is that your a person who has overcome a great personal challenge. You have beaten the odds and have emerged from your struggle as a victor. But, now that I think about it you could be saying something else with a design like this. You could simply be stating the fact that you think shooting star tattoos are beautiful. You simply like the design and want to proudly wear it on your person. And in my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with that at all. Of course, that’s just my humble opinion.

And here we have another example of shooting star tattoos. This is a very small example on the top of a girls foot but it is a sample just the same. A tattoo with one large star and three smaller ones, all surrounded by little things meant to signify motion.

A very small star field moving through the sky as it had not a care in the world and that is what a star does, is it not? Remember that people that have such tattoos are suppose to be people who think of themselves as some sort of star or think of themselves as someone on the journey to stardom. At least that is what the thinking people tell us. You hardly ever hear, she saw the star, liked it and had it put on her foot that same day.

People certainly like to get all deep when explaining the meaning of the many tattoos out there and the shooting star tattoos are no different at all. There are all sorts of meanings claimed to this, the most common being the whole self star thing mentioned above. Rarely are the meanings just plain, simple and forward and honest, but that’s what I would like to see.

I am really quite fond of the shooting star tattoo in this picture. I know that I have seen hundreds of shooting star tattoo designs but this one strikes me as something that is a little special or unique. Look at the design real close. The star is not made up of solid lines. No, this shooting star tattoo is formed by words. And not just any words, but words that have significant meaning to the bearer. Let’s talk about these ‘important’ words, shall we? There are nine words altogether, though I can only make out a few from the photo.

The ones that I can make out are respect, hope, love, strength, loyalty, serenity, courage and faith. I can’t read the ninth but maybe you can. These words in this shooting star tattoo are all words of a positive nature. Things that most of us try to achieve on a daily basis. And getting them worked into this design was a brilliant idea. It shows that this person is trying to accomplish these very positive traits. It’s been a long time since I saw a shooting star tattoo that embodied so many positive attributes in one design. And they did it so simply and eloquently. I really have to tip my hat to them. Good job!!
