Tattoo Stars

Most tattoo stars stand for some kind of personal growth or meaningful and significant changes in life or simply a very strong desire to reach higher goals in life. This can range greatly of course but that is basically it in a nut shell. I think people tend to like tattoo stars because everybody, except for a very strange few, likes stars in general. They represent places we want to get to and things we want to do, but probably never will.

But that’s okay because this motivates us to try harder, nevertheless.

And let’s face it, tattoo stars usually look pretty good on a person. Look at the stars on this person, they look nice. Different shapes and different colors but still all stars. It’s just hard to go wrong with getting this type of tattoo because they almost always look good, unless they are done by a true idiot. So if you want a star or stars tattooed on yourself just make sure you find a competent tattoo artist and you’ll do just find. Get your tattoo stars and enjoy.

Here’s another one of the ever popular star tattoos. This one is of a almost round field of different sized stars bunched together as they hurtle through space at thousands of miles per hour. Well, okay. We all know they are not hurtling any where but that is the idea is it not? Don’t we all have some sort of vision of stars doing that sort of thing way out there in outer space? Of course we do.

All of that sort of thing plays into the fascination we all have as human beings with the great expanses of the universe and the untold possibilities that may exist out there, somewhere.

The star tattoos are one of the old standards as far as tattoos go. They have been around since tattoos have been around and that is just about as long as men have been around so it’s a long time indeed. We’re talking about many of thousands of years. So if a star tattoo is what you are thinking about getting then go for it. I don’t think you will ever be sorry about having some stars on your body.

Here we have a whole field of little tiny tattoo stars that would seem to be on this girls stomach as a way of leading one down to her good stuff. They certainly seem to be going in that direction anyway. And there’s nothing wrong with that. Nothing at all. If a girl wants her tattoos to be a little sexy then let her go for it. I like that and would like to see more of it on more girl, to tell the truth.

And I am pretty sure I am not the only one that feels that way.

Okay, enough of all that. Let’s talk about these tattoo stars. They are a very small star field moving down this girl’s body and I suppose one would say that it has to do with her thinking she is either a star or is on a journey to become one but I don’t think so. The placing of this tattoo tells me that this girl was being a bit sexually playful when she got these tattoo stars and I really think that is all there is to it.

What is it about star tattoos that seem to make them exclusively a female design these days? Once upon a time star tattoos were a design that seemed to be done exclusively on males. And that’s because a lot of sailors got star tattoos inked on their skin. They got them done because in the days of old stars were very important for sailors. They used them to navigate and without them they would never have been able to make it home safely. Since they depended on the stars, it was natural that star tattoo designs would evolve to become symbols of good luck and a safe journey home.

And that is why you see so many nautical star designs floating around. But, in the last few years star tattoos have left the realm of rough and tumble sailors to become symbols that are cute, bright and most definitely female. Take the star tattoo in this picture, for instance. On this ladies left foot she has a peach colored design that has a flowing vine attribute to it. The one on her right foot is almost exactly the same except it’s done in a quaint turquoise color. And the worst part is the color of the star tattoo on the right is the same color as her nail polish!! Do men not have anything that belongs strictly to them anymore?

Many people nowadays are opting to get star tattoo designs inked on their body. But, as with any tattoo there are a few considerations you need to keep in mind, particularly location. The location of your star tattoo design can also be used to enhance the character of your design. Depending upon the design, shoulders, ankles and around the navel are the most popular locations for star tattoos. Although the small of the back has emerged as the new sexual and sensual place for discreet star tattoo designs. But before you decide, it’s important to take certain considerations into account.

First, if you want your tattoo to remain discreet (either for privacy or professional reasons), bear in mind the type of clothing that you normally wear. The location and size of your star design should allow it to be easily covered by your normal style of clothing. Second, bear in mind the effects of aging on the body. As you get older, certain parts of your body stretch and sag. All tattoos, but star designs in particular, do not respond well to stretched skin and a loss of muscle tone due to their symmetrical nature. So while it may seem like a good idea to place a star tattoo around a woman’s navel, weight gain, pregnancy, loss of muscle tone etc can wreck havoc with the overall symmetry and look of the star design. Areas such as the shoulders or lower back suffer less from the effects of aging.

Here we have one of the many available star tattoo designs to check out on this woman’s back. While I typically like star tattoos I am not really crazy about this one, at least in this photo. The reason for that is simple. The dark ink that is the background for the bigger white stars kind of looks like dirt. Doesn’t it? Maybe I am not seeing the true colors in this photograph, but if it still looks like this in person I would not like this tattoo at all. It just doesn’t do it for me.

However, this does not take away from what it might mean to the girl who has it. Her stars mean something to her and it is probably something very special and though I have no way of know what that is I will certainly always respect it. That is the way it should always be in every walk of life. Respect other people and their choices, within reason of course, whether you agree with them or not and the world will not only be a better place for it but you will have a better life for it.

Here we have a stars tattoo that looks quite a bit different than most. It has what appears to be an iron Celtic cross among a field of stars and I can only guess at the meaning behind these two things being together. I would have to suppose that it is meant to combine the two meanings, the new chance at life and the journey to stardom, that being from the stars, with the promise of a divine help for tomorrow as prescribed by the meaning of the cross tattoo.

A way of saying that their journey through life is being guided, at least partially, by the power of God. It sounds reasonable but who knows?

Maybe with this stars tattoo, that is not a Celtic cross in the center at all. Maybe that is meant to be a nautical star and if that is the case then it more than likely carries more of a meaning to sailors from around the world. They used a nautical stars tattoo to document their sailing experience as well as to symbolize their return home to their loves ones. And quite possibly this tattoo could simply be the way a sailor feels, such as; as he travels the ocean so do the stars travel the universe.

Someone came up to me today and asked why star tattoos have become so popular. I thought that was a pretty good question so I decided to address it here. It’s not that there is a sudden popularity in star tattoo designs. It’s nothing new. Star tattoos have been popular for hundreds of years. I think that the common belief is that sailors and ocean merchants were the first ones to sport these designs on their bodies. I don’t really know if that’s the case but it certainly could be. I mean, sailors did use stars to navigate by. They almost had to.

Stars are the only thing that you can see and that never changes when your out on the ocean. You certainly can navigate by trying to distinguish one wave from another now can you? But, I actually think that star tattoos were popular even before sailors used them. I think that there is a religious element involved. The first things that human beings began worshipping as deities were the celestial bodies. So, to answer that question I would have to say that star tattoos are no more popular then they have ever been. It’s just that we see a lot more of them nowadays.

Sure, stars tattoos are popular especially among women. But, should they be? After looking at the stars tattoos in this picture I’m not quite sure. I know your going to ask me what’s wrong with it. So, I’ll just go ahead and tell you the reasons why I don’t like this stars tattoos design. Ready, here we go. First, it’s so boring that I’m ready to climb to the top of my house and jump off!! We have three little blue stars on this women’s hip. Talk about a complete and total lack of originality.

There was absolutely no thought or inspiration put into this design whatsoever. Boring plain and simple. My next problem with this stars tattoo design is that it’s not even inked very well. There are obvious places in the design where there is no ink. It’s just crappy work. My final complaint is the placement of this design. It should not have been placed on this spot on this women’s body. All it highlights is her stretch marks. Now, that’s not sexy at all! This picture just goes to show you that just because a tattoo design is popular it doesn’t mean that everyone should run out and get one.

Tattoos of stars is the subject today. Actually, tattoos of stars isn’t the subject that I’m really going to be talking about directly. No, I want to talk about the complete and total lack of originality people display when they get a tattoo of stars like this inked into their skin. This design is technically proficient but that’s pretty much the only positive that I can say about it. They just made a line of stars that flow along the top of her foot.

And they are all five pointed stars, no variety whatsoever! And to dull it up even more she decided to get this tattoo of stars done in all black. I could look at this design and mistake it for some kind of physical abnormality and not a piece of art. But, I have to give this lady a little credit. There is on redeeming quality about this tattoo design. And that would be the placement. Not only is the top of the foot a cool place to get inked but it’s also a place that is very hard to tattoo. Plus, the foot placement allows this woman to hide this ugly tattoo, which I wish she would do right now.

This is a beautiful and colorful star tattoo. Actually, I should say stars because there are several of them. I particularly like how they have these stars running up their side. I imagine she got this tattoo because of it’s symbolic meaning, though there are many reasons for a person to get a tattoo. One of the main reasons is because they want it to have personal meaning. This is why so many people get a star tattoo. It has a long history of being a symbol for people. The most common meaning behind this tattoo is in nautical terms.

In the days when sailors had to find their own way in the waters, they would follow the stars and the sun for direction. When people started getting tattoos, they would look to the star as a form of self guidance. In other words, the star tattoo symbolizes finding the right path in life. Even these same sailors who would look to the stars for literal direction would tattoo stars on themselves as a good luck symbol. For them, having this tattoo would mean they would have a safe trip home. Although the tattoo has nautical roots to it, you do not have to be a modern day sailor to find hope and meaning in a star. Anyone looking for direction in their own life can benefit from the meaning of this tattoo.

These tattoos of stars almost look like they were meant to be fireworks that are shooting up into the sky. But no, they are just stars, although they certainly seem to be on the move. Big ones and little ones just hanging out there in space moving along and just doing their thing. This is a pretty big tattoo and is not a bad looking one either. Not bad at all for just a small handful of stars moving along someone’s upper arm.

When we look at these tattoos of stars, what do we see? Do we see a person who wants to be a star or a person who feels they are on the way to becoming a star? I think maybe so. I think maybe that a person who would get a star tattoo this big and in such an obvious place is the person who wants to show off that they are a star, even if its just in their own mind. And who is to say if the person will ever become a big star or not. They all have to come from somewhere. Perhaps the person with this tattoo knows something that we do not. His tattoos of stars may be just the ticket for him.

This tattoo is a perfect example of the feminine side to stars tattoos. Its a more subtle, softer type of star tattoo. It has bright, feminine colors like blue, pink, white, and purple and is in a more feminine design. Not all stars tattoos are feminine, as stars tattoos are cross gender. This tattoo has a nicely shaded pink, purple, and white background, which brings out the black outline and blue color of the stars. This background has a wave design, accentuating the stars even further.

The stars a just big enough to catch the eye, and go from a darker blue on the edges all the way to a white in the center. There is also a minor, less pronounced twinkle in the upper left corner of the tattoo, which gives it a subtle look. This smaller star has a dot of purple and white coloring in the center, which brings out its outline as well. The coloring of this tattoo has a glossy look too it, which gives it a more feminine touch and look. The colors, design, and idea around this tattoo makes it a perfect beginning tattoo for any woman.

The tattoo star in the picture is actually a pentagram or five pointed star. I know it doesn’t look like your common pentagram because the lines have not been intersected all the way. And by the way, this type of star has no mystical meaning whatsoever unless the person who bears it wishes it too. For those of you who wish to know the meaning of the pentagram then read on. The five pointed star, or the pentagram, is one of the most powerful and misunderstood symbols of modern times, although it has been around for thousands of years.

A tattoo star with the pointy-side up has positive meaning and symbolizes the spirit having mastery over the elements. This design can be traced back to the Pagans, Wiccans and many other variants of Earth based religions and was considered a religious symbol. These groups essentially believed in peace, and only spoke about their beliefs when asked. It was a live and let live philosophy. However, when the single point of the tattoo star is displayed downwards, it symbolizes the elements over spirit. When the upside down five sided star is placed within a circle it often is associated with Satanists.
