<td width="100%">Artwork tattoo designs can be very beautiful and very impressive at the same time. These type of tattoos generally make good use of classic works of art. They have the ability to make a person&#8217;s skin into a canvas and their body into a living, breathing museum. It is no wonder that artwork tattoos are beginning to experience a significant increase in their popularity. </p>
<p>Over the course of my life I have seen a large number of artwork tattoos.<br />
<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="1%" align="left">
<tr>
<td width="1%"></td>
<td width="1%"><img src="/images/design/spacer.gif" width="10" height="5" /></td>

</td>
<td width="1%"></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="1%"></td>
<td width="1%"><img src="/images/design/spacer.gif" width="10" height="5" /></td>
</tr>
</table>
<p> Some of them weren&#8217;t done very well, but the majority of them were done in a professional style and were very beautiful to view. I guess that it all depends on the skill of the artists and the flash that is used for the artwork tattoo. </p>
<p>Here is a short list of some of the fantastic artwork tattoos that I have really enjoyed: Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci, Las Meninas by Diego Belazquez, The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh, Nighthawks by Edward Hopper, The Kiss by Auguste Rodin, The Birth of Venus by Sandro Botticelli, The Fountain by Marcel Duchamp, The Scream by Edvard Munch, &#8216;Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?&#8217; by Paul Gauguin and American Gothic by Grant Wood.</td>

<p>What a lot of people fail to realize is that there is not only tattoos that are symbolic or unique, but also tattoo art. Actually, when considering getting a particular design it&#8217;s best not only to get something that has personal meaning to you but also something that has artistic merit. Take the examples of the flash available as tattoo art in the picture. Now, I know most of them are strictly religious but that doesn&#8217;t mean that they can&#8217;t also be considered art.<br />
<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="1%" align="left">
<tr>
<td width="1%"></td>
<td width="1%"><img src="/images/design/spacer.gif" width="10" height="5" /></td>

<tr>
<td width="1%">
<table width="160" height="60" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#3C9148">

<td align="center" bgcolor="#E8F9E9"><script LANGUAGE="JavaScript" TYPE="text/javascript">ad('bottom');</script></td>

</table>
</td>
<td width="1%"></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="1%"></td>
<td width="1%"><img src="/images/design/spacer.gif" width="10" height="5" /></td>
</tr>
</table>
<p> If you don&#8217;t believe me then take a look at the famous painting, &quot;The Last Supper&quot;. It is strictly a Christian work but it&#8217;s also a beautiful piece of art. The tattoo art in the pictures is a bust of Jesus Christ, a crucifix entwined with a rosary and an angel. Also depicted is a heart design. With the crown this design can be a Christian symbol but with the swords it&#8217;s also a symbol of the tarot. So, the next time you get ink done, consider first the meaning that it&#8217;s going to have for your life. But, don&#8217;t forget that tattoos are also art and your skin is merely the canvas to decorate as you choose.</td>

<p>This is a beautiful example of tattoo art. It features a ship sailing on the open seas. The detail in this design is very intricately done and well shaded. It shows that tattoo art doesn&#8217;t have to be filled with symbolic meaning but that it can just be something that&#8217;s aesthetically pleasure. And the longer you look at it the more detail that is revealed. The ship in the picture if you take a close look at is actually a pirate ship. See the little skull and crossbones flag at the top of the mast? But, that is not the only thing that this piece of tattoo art reveals to the beholder.<br />
<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="1%" align="right">
<tr>
<td width="1%"><img src="/images/design/spacer.gif" width="10" height="5" /></td>
<td width="1%"></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="1%"></td>
<td width="1%">
<table width="160" height="60" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#3C9148">
<tr>
<td align="center" bgcolor="#E8F9E9"><script LANGUAGE="JavaScript" TYPE="text/javascript">ad('top');</script></td>
</tr>
</table>
</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td width="1%"><img src="/images/design/spacer.gif" width="10" height="5" /></td>
<td width="1%"></td>
</tr>
</table>
<p> There are also several smaller flags at the top of the ship. And you can also see the crows nest on one of the lower mast, and the name of the vessel &quot;Colette&quot;. But, what makes this an even more interesting piece of tattoo art is the motion that this design conveys. You can see the roughness of the waves with the white foam swell forming around the stern. And all the flags look as though they are straining against a great wind storm. You can just tell that this ship is under duress as they try to ride over the ominous waves. That&#8217;s what makes this a true piece of tattoo art. </td>
