Urban Tattoos

Unlike most tattoos that you see today, urban tattoo designs have very little symbolic meaning associated with them. They are usually just a cool representation of a beautiful style. They do however, enable the bearer to choose from a large number of different styles which can make them very, very unique and capable of telling an intricate story.

The purpose of urban tattoos is to recreate images that are commonly seen on city streets. They often feature a graffiti script that proudly announces names, dates and phrases.

Other forms of urban tattoos may stray from the graffiti style and lean more towards a mural style. These designs portray people who have significant meaning to the wearer such as family members, friends and celebrities.

I have seen many urban tattoos that look like they have been spray painted onto the subject. This makes the tattoo really come alive and seem like it belongs on a car, side of a train car or a billboard. Urban tattoos done in this way have an airy and light feel to them, and are often characterized by unclear lines. For those wishing to add a little bit of extra pizazz to their urban tattoo, dragons or other animals can be added to it.
